1. Bearing installation environment

The installation of imported bearings should be prepared before installation in a dry and clean environment:

• Different installation methods depending on bearing size and application environment;

• Prepare components, tools and equipment necessary for installation;

• Prepare all parts to be installed and wash them thoroughly before installation;

Check dimensions and shape accuracy of all parts to be installed according to drawings.

Note: Do not unpack the imported bearing before the installation preparation is completed, so as not to contamine the bearing.

2. Installation of cylindrical bore bearing

Press in method

For small bearings with interference fit, imported bearings can be pressed into the shaft or shell by mechanical or hydraulic methods.

Method of heating

For large size bearings or large interference, the principle of thermal expansion and cold contraction can be used to install. Generally, oil bath heating or induction heating method is used.

Electric induction heating

Advantages:

• Clean and pollution-free

• Timing and temperature

• Simple operation

3. Installation of tapered bearing

Bearings with tapered inner holes are always installed with interference fit.

4. Clearance adjustment during bearing installation

For cylindrical hole bearing, the radial clearance size after installation is determined by the tolerance of the selected shell hole and shaft. The greater the interference between them is, the smaller the radial clearance after installation is. Therefore, it is very important to correctly select the tolerance of the shaft and hole that matches the imported bearing.

For the installation of tapered bearing, the interference is not like the inner hole of cylindrical bearing, which is determined by the tolerance of the selected shaft, but depends on the length of the thrust distance of the bearing on the tapered journal or the tapered tight sleeve.

The initial radial clearance of the bearing is gradually reduced in the process of pushing, and the amount of pushing determines the degree of fit. Therefore, the initial radial clearance of the imported bearing must be measured before installation. In the process of bearing push, the radial clearance is continuously measured until the required radial clearance reduction and the ideal interference fit are reached.
