According to the size of the load If the load or impact is large, choose roller bearings (line contact); If the load is small or the impact is small, ball bearings (point contact) should be selected.

When selecting a rolling bearing type, the main factors to consider are the following:

1. According to the size of the load

If the load or impact is large, choose roller bearings (line contact);

If the load is small or the impact is small, ball bearings (point contact) should be selected.

2. According to the nature of the load:

When the load is stable, ball bearings can be selected;

When there is shock and vibration, choose roller bearings.

3. According to the direction of load

For pure radial load, choose deep groove ball bearings (6) or cylindrical roller bearings (N);

For pure axial load, choose thrust bearing (5 or 8);

Radial and axial loads – angular contact ball bearings (7) or tapered roller bearings (3);

When the axial load is not large, deep groove ball bearings can be used.

4. According to the speed

When the speed is high, choose ball bearings and light series bearings;

When the speed is low, choose roller bearings and heavy series bearings;

The limiting speed of thrust bearings is very low.

5. According to the rotation accuracy

High precision requirements – choose ball bearings;

6. According to the centering performance

If the shaft has poor rigidity, poor coaxiality of the bearing seat hole, or multi-point support, choose an aligning bearing (category “1” or “category 2”);

7. Consider size restrictions

When there are restrictions on radial dimensions, choose light series, extra light series or needle roller bearings;

When there are restrictions on axial dimensions, choose narrow series bearings.

8. Consider stiffness requirements

When high rigidity is required, roller bearings are selected.

9. Consider economic requirements

Bearings with ordinary structures are cheaper than bearings with special structures;

Ball bearings are less expensive than roller bearings;

Bearings with low precision are cheaper than bearings with high precision.

10. Consider installation and disassembly

When bearings are frequently installed and disassembled, choose bearings with separate structures, such as tapered roller bearings, cylindrical roller bearings, needle roller bearings and thrust bearings.

Bearings with a conical inner hole can be installed on the tapered journal, or on the cylindrical journal with the help of an adapter sleeve or a withdrawal sleeve. It is very convenient to install and disassemble.

11. Consider neutrality

If there is a misalignment error, such as a large deformation of the shaft or shell, or poor processing or installation of the bearing seat, use an aligning ball bearing or an aligning roller bearing.
