After the bearing is installed, in order to check whether the installation is correct, an operation inspection must be performed. Small machinery can be rotated by hand to confirm whether it rotates smoothly. Inspection items include poor operation due to foreign matter, scratches, and indentations, unstable torque due to poor installation and poor machining of the mounting base, excessive torque due to too small clearance, installation errors, and sealing friction, etc. wait. If there is no abnormality, the power operation can be started.

Large machinery cannot be rotated manually, so the power is cut off immediately after starting without load, and the machinery is idling. Check whether there is vibration, noise, contact between rotating parts, etc. After confirming that there are no abnormalities, enter power operation.
Power operation starts from no-load low speed and slowly increases to rated operation under specified conditions. The inspection items during the trial operation are whether there are abnormal sounds, changes in IKO bearing temperature, leakage or discoloration of lubricant, etc. If any abnormality is found, the operation should be stopped immediately, the machinery should be inspected, and the bearings should be removed for inspection if necessary.
IKO bearing temperature can generally be estimated based on the external temperature of the bearing seat. However, it is more accurate to use the oil hole to directly measure the temperature of the bearing outer ring. The bearing temperature gradually increases from the beginning of operation, and usually stabilizes after 1 to 2 hours. If the bearing is poorly installed, the temperature will rise sharply and cause abnormally high temperatures. The reasons include too much lubricant, too small bearing clearance, poor installation, excessive friction of the sealing device, etc. In the case of high-speed rotation, the wrong selection of bearing structure and lubrication method is also the reason.

  1. Riveting or welding quality of cage:
Mainly observe whether the rivet head is offset, skewed, loose, missing or double eyelids, whether the welding position is correct, whether the welding point is too large or too small, whether the welding is not strong or the rolling element is stuck due to excessive welding. The above items are the key parts of our inspection of IKO bearings. In addition to the above inspection parts, if the typing quality is poor, such as blurred or damaged handwriting, it should be considered a defective product. In serious cases, it may not be accepted.
  2. Peeling and folding:
The local parts of these two defects are not firmly bonded with the base metal, and there are often decarburization or carbon depletion phenomena around them to varying degrees. The material is easy to collapse, dent or wear, which is very detrimental to the bearing life and accuracy.
  3. Rust, black skin and pitting:
The latter two are defects that easily store moisture and dirt, and are most likely to develop into rust. Rust is a source of pollution that leads to poor installation, early wear and fatigue. Severe corrosion will cause the bearing to be scrapped.
  4. Various mechanical scars:
Such as wear, scratches, pressure, bumps, etc., will cause poor bearing installation, cause eccentric load and stress concentration, resulting in a decrease in rotation accuracy and service life.
  5. Various cracks:
Such as raw material cracks, forging cracks, heat treatment cracks and grinding cracks, etc., these cracks will become sources of stress concentration and rapidly expand during the future operation of the bearing, causing bearing rupture, which will have a great impact on the life and work safety of IKO bearings. In fact, for bearings with important uses, bearing factories have conducted 100% magnetic or radiographic inspection of their component parts.
