For bearings used in pairs, excessive axial oil clearance can easily cause cage wear. It is necessary to regularly check the axial movement and adjust it in time. For paired bearings (tapered pairs - DB/DF), the intermediate spacer must be provided by the manufacturer, with high precision, and its main function is to adjust the axial clearance. For example, the suffix T165 means that the total length of the spacer and the bearing is 165mm.

  1. For bearings used in pairs, excessive axial oil clearance can easily cause cage wear. It is necessary to regularly check the axial movement and adjust it in time.

  3. The suffix K30 for tapered bearings: indicates a taper of 1:30.
  4. Bearings with dust covers are not allowed to be opened and greased. The amount of grease has been calculated in the design to match the bearing life.
  5. Nylon cages are not allowed to be heated for installation. If heating is required, the temperature must be strictly controlled below 120℃, and the temperature gun must be regularly tested.
  6. Copper cages are not suitable for grease lubrication. M type can be greased, MA/ML must be oil bath lubricated. ECM type must be oil bath lubricated.
  7. SKF bearings are used for high precision, but SKF bearings are not suitable for general environment or precision. Otherwise, it is more likely to fail.
  8. If the bearing clearance is not marked, it means the standard clearance. C2 is less than the normal clearance. C3 is greater than the normal clearance.
  9. Bearings with dust covers are not suitable for hot-loading. The hot-loading temperature must not exceed 80°C. If the bearing is heated to more than 125°C, it is easy to cause local quenching of the bearing. The bearing must stay for 2 minutes after hot-loading, otherwise the bearing will rebound by 0.05~0.15mm.
  10. The radial oil clearance must be checked when the double-row spherical roller bearing is cold-loaded. Use a feeler gauge to insert 2/3 to ensure uniform clearance. Prevent eccentric loading.
  11. The tolerance of the inner and outer diameters of the bearing must be checked, otherwise it is easy to cause changes in the radial oil clearance and affect the bearing life.
  12. Do a good job of centering. Concentricity affects the bearing life. Europe calculated that 34% is caused by centering.
  13. It is not advisable to add too much lubricating oil, which will affect heat dissipation. The oil film thickness is only 0.2μm. 36% of the damage is caused by poor lubrication. 16% of the bearing failures are caused by improper installation.
