Planar thrust bearing is widely used in assembly because it mainly bears axial load. Although the installation and operation of thrust bearing is relatively simple, errors still often occur in the actual maintenance, that is, the tight ring and loose ring of the bearing are not installed correctly, the result makes the bearing lose its effect, and the journal is quickly worn. The inner ring of the tight ring is in transition with the shaft journal. When the shaft rotates, the tight ring is driven and the end face of the stationary part is rubbed. When the axial force (Fx) is applied, the friction torque will be greater than the resistance moment of the inner diameter, which will lead to the forced rotation of the tight ring and the shaft matching surface and aggravate the wear of the shaft journal.

Therefore, the following points should be paid attention to when installing thrust bearings.

(1) Distinguish the tight ring and loose ring of the bearing (according to the bearing inner diameter size judgment, the aperture difference of O.1 ~ O.5mm).

(2) Distinguish the static parts of the mechanism (that is, the parts that do not move, mainly refers to the assembly).

(3) No matter what the case, the loose ring of the bearing should always be on the end face of the static part.
