Q1:What are the characteristics of tapered roller bearings and cylindrical roller bearings?

A:Tapered roller bearings are centripetal thrust structures, which can bear axial and radial forces at the same time.  Among them, a single row can only bear the axial force in one direction, and some types can bear the axial force at the same time, similar to angular contact ball bearings. The difference is that the relative speed is low, the accuracy is low, but the bearing capacity is much larger.

A:80511 is a thrust cylindrical roller bearing  

  • Thrust roller bearings are used to bear combined axial and radial loads mainly in axial direction, but the radial load shall not exceed 55% of the axial load.  Compared with other thrust roller bearings, this kind of bearing has lower friction coefficient, higher speed and self-aligning performance.

  • Thrust cylindrical roller bearings are separated bearings, which can only bear unidirectional axial load and slight impact, and can limit the axial displacement of the shaft (or housing) in one direction, so they can be used for unidirectional axial positioning.  But its carrying capacity is far greater than that of thrust ball bearings.  When the roller rolls, the roller will inevitably slide on the raceway due to the different linear speeds at both ends of the roller. Therefore, the ultimate speed of this kind of bearing is lower than that of thrust ball bearing, and it is usually only suitable for low-speed operation occasions.  
  • The standard design of thrust cylindrical roller bearings is made of wheeled metal solid cage, other types or materials can also be used according to user requirements.  The thrust tapered roller bearing can only bear unidirectional axial load and can limit the unidirectional axial displacement of the bearing, so it can be used for unidirectional axial positioning.  Compared with thrust cylindrical roller bearings, the bearing capacity is large, the relative sliding is small, but the limit speed is low.  
  • Thrust cylindrical roller bearings are mainly used in heavy machine tools, high power Marine gear boxes, oil drilling RIGS, vertical motors and other machinery.
