Regarding the damage status of IKO bearings, such as: jamming of the ring ribs of oil-free bearings, the reasons can be considered as insufficient and unsuitable lubricant, defects in the oil supply and drainage structure, foreign matter intrusion, bearing installation errors, and shaft deflection. If the song is too big, these reasons will also overlap. Therefore, it is difficult to know the real cause of the damage only by investigating the bearing damage. However, if you know the machine and operating conditions of the bearing, the structure around the bearing, understand the situation before and after the accident, and investigate the damage status of the bearing and several causes, you can prevent similar accidents from happening again.

1. Oscillation of bearings
IKO bearing vibration is very sensitive to damage to oil-free bearings. For example, peeling, indentation, rust, cracks, wear, etc. will all be reflected in the bearing vibration measurement. Therefore, a special bearing vibration detector (frequency analyzer) is used as deemed appropriate. etc.) can measure the volume of oscillation, and the specific abnormal working conditions can be inferred through frequency analysis. The measured numbers vary depending on the operating conditions of the bearing or the installation position of the sensor. Because of this, it is necessary to analyze and compare the measured values of each machine in advance to confirm the judgment criteria.
2. Bearing temperature
The temperature of IKO bearings can generally be measured with the temperature outside the bearing chamber. It would be more appropriate if the oil hole can be used to directly measure the temperature of the bearing outer ring.
Generally, the temperature of IKO bearings slowly rises as the oil-free bearings start to operate, and reaches a stable state after 1-2 hours. The normal temperature of bearings varies depending on the machine’s heat capacity, heat dissipation, speed and load. If the lubricating oil and mounting parts are not suitable, the bearing temperature will rise rapidly and abnormally high temperatures will appear. At this time, the operation must be stopped and necessary preventive measures must be taken.
Thermal sensors can be used to monitor and detect the working temperature of IKO bearings at any time, and can successfully realize semi-automatic alarm or stop when the temperature exceeds the specified value to avoid accidental shaft burning.
High temperature often means that you are in an abnormal working condition. High temperature also affects the lubricant of IKO bearings. Sometimes bearing overheating can be attributed to the bearing’s lubricant. If the oil-free bearing is rotated continuously for a long time at a temperature exceeding 125°C, the service life of the bearing will be reduced. The causes of high-temperature bearings include: insufficient lubricating oil or insufficient lubricating oil and lubricating oil. These include impurities, excessive load, bearing damage, insufficient clearance, high friction in the bearing seat due to oil seals, etc.
Because of this continuous monitoring and testing of IKO bearing temperature is indispensable, whether it is measuring the bearing itself or other critical parts. If the operating conditions remain unchanged, any temperature change can indicate a failure.
