The maintenance of bearing products can prolong the service life of equipment and improve work efficiency. The maintenance mainly includes three aspects: cleaning operation, lubrication system management and optimization control of operating environment.
Clean operation and sealing protection
Cleaning procedures: The maintenance process should start with a thorough cleaning to remove oil and contaminants from the bearing surface and its surroundings. When disassembling components, use specialized tools, especially taking care to protect the sealing components to prevent scratches or deformation. It is recommended to conduct a comprehensive inspection of the sealing system every six months to prevent lubrication failure due to minor damage.
Sealing protection: modern oil seals require high installation accuracy, and tools should be avoided to scratch or deform during disassembly. When the sealing ring is found to have signs of aging such as hardening and cracking, new parts should be replaced in time .
Lubrication system management
Lubricant Selection: Lubricants are the ‘lifeblood’ of bearing operation, and a comprehensive management system should be established. Ensure that containers are sealed during storage to prevent contamination by impurities; before adding lubricants, use professional equipment to check for cleanliness and filter out contaminants promptly. It is recommended to conduct a quarterly status assessment of the lubrication system, and immediately replace any lubricants that have changed color, clumped, or contain metal shavings.
Lubricating oil control: the injection amount of grease should be controlled according to the equipment instructions. Excessive amount will lead to abnormal temperature rise, and insufficient amount will cause dry friction. Different types of lubricants should not be mixed, and the oil used in winter and summer should be adjusted timely according to the temperature change.
Operation environment optimization control
Dust proof, moisture-proof and temperature difference-proof: the working environment of the bearing should meet the requirements of “three protection”, and the equipment should be equipped with effective protective devices to avoid metal chips, dust and other pollutants from entering the bearing chamber. In humid environment, a moisture-proof module should be installed, and the internal humidity of the equipment should be checked regularly.
Special condition processing: For frequent start and stop or large temperature difference conditions, it is recommended to install buffer devices to reduce the impact of thermal expansion and contraction. During equipment shutdown, multi-layer protective covers should be used to seal key parts to avoid hidden damage caused by environmental factors.
